Grounds (5 sub-boards) Hogwarts Castle is surrounded by mountains and is perched high atop a cliff overlooking a great black lake. Diagon Alley (7 sub-boards) Diagon Alley is a high street in London. It is accessible to the wizarding world, to which it is something of an economic hub, but hidden from Muggles. However, Muggles are allowed access to it if they need to accompany their Muggle-born magical children. One entrance to Diagon Alley can be reached on foot by passing through The Leaky Cauldron. Given the busy nature of the area, traveling to and from Diagon Alley is likely typically done by more magical means such as Apparition or by using the Floo Network. Knockturn Alley Knockturn Alley is alocation leading off of the more savoury Diagon Alley, Knockturn Alley is a dark and seedy alleyway in London to which Muggles have no access, and which is frequented largely by Dark Wizards. Many of the shops in Knockturn Alley are devoted to the Dark Arts; the largest is Borgin & Burkes, which sells sinister and dangerous objects. The name is probably a play on the word "nocturnally". Hogsmeade (7 sub-boards) Hogsmeade Village, or simply Hogsmeade is the only settlement in Great Britain inhabited solely by magical beings, and is located to the northwest of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. However, Hogwarts students for shopping needs and to mingle with friends primarily visit the Village. Students of Hogwarts who are in their third year and above are permitted to visit Hogsmeade during scheduled visits, as long as they have a signed permission slip from a parent or guardian. Azkaban Azkaban is the wizard prison. Wizards who violate the laws of the British wizarding world are sent there. Only one other such prison, Nurmengard, is known to exist. By the start of the series, Azkaban is guarded by the Dementors, working under the British Ministry of Magic. Generally, only very severe crimes are punished with a term in Azkaban. Many of the prisoners were supporters of Lord Voldemort, though some misunderstandings have resulted in others' imprisonment. Azkaban is located "in the middle of the North Sea"; some fans cite Heligoland, in the North Sea, as the perfect match for the island. Moderators: Hermione Granger, ♥ Skye ♥

Ministry of Magic The Ministry of Magic is the Government for the Magical community of Britain and Ireland. This government succeeded the earlier "Wizards' Council", the earliest known form of government for the Wizarding world. Within the Ministry, there appears to be little coherent separation of powers, and its judicial system is regularly seen to be subjected to political influences. The popular Grogan Stump is the current Minister of Magic. Moderators: Hermione Granger, ♥ Skye ♥

St. Mungo's St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries is the hospital for the Wizarding world. Medics at the hospital are not called doctors, but are known as Healers or Mediwizards and wear lime-green robes. Founded by famous wizard Healer Mungo Bonham, St Mungo's is located in London. To enter the premises, one has to step through the window of what appears to be a derelict department store called Purge & Dowse Ltd. The exteriors of the hospital are red-bricked and dirty, which is the complete opposite of the interiors. Inside, everything is very neat and looks exactly as a hospital should. There are six floors. The emblem of St Mungo's is a magic wand crossed with a bone. Moderators: Hermione Granger, ♥ Skye ♥
